Ehden: Former Information Minister Ziad Makary emphasized the necessity of “building bridges of dialogue” and the vital role of “democratic debate as a means of resolving intractable crises.” He stated, “Experience has proven that the only solution in Lebanon lies in openness. Populism does not lead to positive results, and money and corruption are enough to corrupt souls and destroy political life. Lebanon’s unity is the only guarantee, as is the state project, adherence to the provisions of the constitution, and placing ourselves under the rule of law.”
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Makary hosted a luncheon banquet at his residence in Ehden, honoring the “Al-Irfan Unitarian Foundation.” The event was attended by several religious dignitaries, representatives of spiritual families, and cultural and social figures, highlighting the importance of collective dialogue and unity.
Makary further elaborated on the stark contrast between law and chaos, stating, “There is a huge difference between law and chaos. Where laws prevail, they result in organization, development, and progress, while chaos and randomness have disastrous results for decades and generations.”
He reiterated the significance of the gathering, stating, “The meeting of the spiritual families is an annual tradition stemming from our firm belief in the unity of word and rank, and preserving the image of a unified national coexistence,” underscoring the event’s role in fostering national unity and coexistence.
