Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Monday received Minister of State for Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Dr. Kamal Shehadeh, who briefed him on the progress achieved by the ministry and requested his support, and that of the presidential team, to accelerate the completion of its assigned tasks.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, earlier in the day, President Aoun engaged in a broad discussion with UN Resident Coordinator Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert about ongoing efforts to restore stability in southern Lebanon. This comes amid continued Israeli attacks and diplomatic contacts aimed at de-escalation in the region.
Additionally, President Aoun met with National Audiovisual Council Chairman Abdel Hadi Mahfouz, who presented a report on the council's oversight activities with television and radio institutions. Mahfouz also offered proposals to better regulate online media platforms.
