Berri Discusses Financial Crisis and Firefighting Efforts with Key Officials

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri held a significant meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Karim Souaid, at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh. The discussions were centered around the current financial situation in the country.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Speaker Berri also engaged in talks with MP Michel Murr. Their discussions touched on recent political developments and legislative affairs, highlighting the ongoing efforts to address the country's political landscape.

In response to the environmental challenges posed by the widespread fires in southern Lebanon, Speaker Berri took proactive measures. He instructed the firefighting department of the Islamic Al-Rissala Scouts' Civil Defense to deploy all available firefighting resources and personnel. This directive aims to support municipal councils in the regions of Bkassine, Al-Rihan, Al-Kharroub, and Al-Tuffah, where fires have continued to threaten valuable forested areas. Berri emphasized the importance of coordinating with relevant authorities to effectively combat the fires and protect these critical national and environmental assets.
