Beirut: The Minister of Culture followed up on the Ministry's art restoration project and received the BEMA Foundation for an exhibition of artwork by public school students.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, minister of Culture Ghassan Salam© met at his office in the National Library in Sanayeh with Sandra Abou Nader, founder of the BEMA Beirut Art Museum, and the museum's director, Juliana Khalaf Salhab. They briefed him on the progress of the project to restore the Ministry of Culture's collection of paintings and the methodology employed by the foundation. To date, approximately 500 paintings have been restored, and work is underway to complete the remaining paintings located in the Ministry and other official buildings.
On behalf of the foundation, Abou Nader extended an invitation to Minister Salam© to inaugurate an art exhibition, under the patronage of First Lady Nemat Aoun, on the 11th of next month at Villa Audi. The exhibition will feature artwork by students from public schools across Lebanon, part of BEMA's ongoing programs in public schools since 2017.
