Paris: Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Hajjar conducted a series of meetings with French officials during his visit to France, accompanied by Lebanon's Ambassador to France, Rabih Shaer.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Minister Hajjar commenced his engagements in Paris by meeting with Hugues Moutouh, Secretary General of the French Ministry of the Interior. Their discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation concerning security issues that are of mutual interest to both Lebanon and France.
Subsequently, Minister Hajjar held discussions with Paris Police Chief Patrice Faure, where they explored matters related to the Lebanese community in Paris. The meeting included a presentation on the Paris police's methods for managing security and coordinating between various units, particularly during emergencies and crises.
In another significant meeting, Hajjar conferred with Georges Salinas, Head of the Directorate for International Security Cooperation (DCIS). They discussed mechanisms for joint cooperation in knowledge exchange, training, and capacity building. The talks also aimed at bolstering the capabilities of Lebanese security forces, with a specific focus on the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces.
Additionally, Minister Hajjar met with David Clavi¨re, Director of the National Council for Private Security Activities (CNAPS). Their discussion revolved around potential cooperation in regulating the private security sector and overseeing the operations of security companies, leveraging France's expertise in this domain.
