Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam wrote today on his 'X' platform account: 'On the thirty-sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of President Ren© Moawad, we remember the statesman who believed in the Taif Agreement as a way to end the war and rebuild the state and its institutions. On November 22, he insisted on receiving congratulations on independence despite the risks, so he became a martyr of independence, and a martyr of Taif, which was only applied selectively following assassination.'
