Salam Reviews Financial Gap Law Progress, Meets Social Institutions Delegation

Beirut: Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Tuesday welcomed Jacques de Lajugie, economic adviser to the French President's Special Envoy to Lebanon, in the presence of French Ambassador to Lebanon, Herv© Magro. The meeting reviewed progress made in preparing the draft law on the financial gap, with emphasis on upholding its core principles, foremost protecting depositors' rights and establishing a sound banking sector capable of restoring confidence and stability, in support of economic recovery and renewed growth.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, separately, PM Salam received a delegation from the newly elected board of the Social Welfare Institutions 'Dar al-Aytam al-Islamiya,' headed by Nada Salam Najjar, in a protocol visit during which the institution's situation and future activities were discussed.

Salam also met Lebanon's Ambassador to Nigeria, Wissam Klakash.
