Beirut: Minister of Culture Ghassan Salam© met with Carol Nehme, the Director of the Center for Arabic Research and Studies (CREA) at Saint Joseph University, at his office in the National Library located in Sanayeh. During the meeting, Ms. Nehme presented Minister Salam© with a commemorative badge celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Center, recognizing its sponsorship of the event "CREA 80: Tales of Light and Letters," held last month at the Oriental Library.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the discussions between Ms. Nehme and Minister Salam© centered around the Center's involvement in the education of Modern Standard Arabic and the Lebanese dialect. A significant part of the dialogue was devoted to the Diploma of Arabic as a Foreign Language (DALE), a program initiated by CREA to evaluate Arabic language proficiency for non-native speakers, adhering to international standards.
The meeting further delved into the challenges currently faced by humanities disciplines and explored potential strategies for addressing these issues.
