Yarzeh: Minister of National Defense Major General Michel Menassa on Tuesday received US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa at his office in Yarzeh in a courtesy and acquaintance visit, during which bilateral relations between Lebanon and the United States were discussed.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the US ambassador reaffirmed his country's commitment to continuing its support for the Lebanese state and its institutions, particularly the Lebanese Armed Forces. For his part, Minister Menassa thanked the United States for its ongoing support to Lebanon and the army, praising in particular the assistance program dedicated to the Lebanese Armed Forces and expressing hope that this support would be further strengthened and expanded across various fields.
The meeting also addressed the situation in southern Lebanon amid the ongoing deployment of the Lebanese Army. In this context, the Minister stressed the importance of the role played by the committee overseeing the cessation of hostilities in supporting stability and enhancing coordination, thereby enabling the army to fully carry out its duties.
Separately, the defense minister met with the Inspector General at the Ministry of National Defense, Major General Fadi Makhloul, who headed a delegation from the General Inspectorate. The meeting, held as a courtesy visit, included a review of the inspectorate's work and the tasks entrusted to it.
