Supreme Judicial Council, Justice Minister Reaffirm Commitment to Judicial Reform

Beirut: The Supreme Judicial Council and Justice Minister Adel Nassar on Tuesday said in a joint statement that they held a meeting on 30 December 2025, stressing the importance of continued cooperation to restore regular judicial work.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, they cited progress in improving judges' conditions, securing funding for the Judges' Mutual Fund, rehabilitating courthouses-starting with Baabda-and strengthening judicial oversight.

The statement acknowledged the country's difficult financial situation while emphasizing that an independent and effective judiciary is essential to the rule of law and public trust. It also warned that parties affected by renewed judicial action may attempt to obstruct its work, reaffirming readiness to pursue legitimate demands and receive requests submitted according to due process.
