Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the occasion of Bahrain Diplomatic Day. He emphasized that Bahraini diplomacy is characterized by a balanced and dialogue-driven approach, supported by active international partnerships aimed at advancing peace, stability, and prosperity worldwide.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani highlighted that Bahrain's diplomatic achievements are deeply rooted in the Kingdom's rich civilizational heritage and principled political positions, which support security, peace, human rights, and Arab and Islamic causes, while contributing to sustainable development globally. He noted that the diplomatic approach guided by His Majesty the King has positioned Bahrain as a trusted international partner in maintaining peace and security, supporting peaceful resolutions to conflicts, and promoting multilateral cooperation in various domains.
The Foreign Minister expressed pride in Bahrain assuming its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for the 2026-2027 term and chairing the Arab Group at UNESCO. He also noted the Kingdom's preparation to preside over the Arab League Council at the ministerial level in March and the Security Council in April. Dr. Al Zayani recalled Bahrain's presidency of the UN General Assembly in 2006, which reflected international trust in Bahrain's diplomatic vision under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
Dr. Al Zayani discussed the success of the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit led by His Majesty the King, and its outcomes that further GCC cooperation across domains such as security, sustainable development, and digital transformation. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to advancing joint Arab action, safeguarding the security and stability of Arab and Islamic states, and rejecting interference in their internal affairs.
Further, the Foreign Minister highlighted Bahrain's diplomatic engagements, including HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's participation in international summits and official visits, emphasizing strategic agreements with the US and the UK. He underscored Bahrain's support for international efforts in sustainable development and conflict resolution through dialogue and diplomacy.
Dr. Al Zayani emphasized Bahrain's commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2025-2029, promoting coexistence and humanitarian efforts, and highlighted the Kingdom's achievements in human development, economic competitiveness, and human rights. He expressed pride in the contributions of Bahrain's diplomatic pioneers and the dedication of ministry staff and diplomatic mission members.
The Foreign Minister concluded by expressing confidence in the young national diplomatic staff and highlighting their crucial role in achieving Bahrain's foreign policy objectives. He reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to being a voice of moderation, a partner in stability and peace, and a promoter of international solidarity and human rights.
