Ambassador Jamal articulated Bahrain's stance, emphasizing support for diplomatic efforts to achieve a political and lasting resolution to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, adhering to international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2774, to enhance regional and international security and peace.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Jamal expressed Bahrain's regret over the war in Ukraine persisting into its fourth year, highlighting ongoing military operations and the significant burden on civilians. She noted extensive damage to civilian infrastructure, which hinders the provision of basic services amidst rising humanitarian needs.
The statement from Bahrain emphasized the importance of safeguarding civilian infrastructure and international facilities, including embassies and diplomatic missions, in alignment with international norms. The Kingdom expressed regret over damage to the Qatari Embassy in Kyiv.
Bahrain's statement also acknowledged diplomatic efforts by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, commending initiatives like mediation, humanitarian aid, and facilitating detainee exchanges.
