Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh. The meeting was attended by French Ambassador Herv© Magro and Berri's advisers, Mahmoud Berri and Ali Hamdan.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions centered on developments in Lebanon and the region, with a specific focus on the international conference scheduled for March 5 in Paris. This conference aims to support the Lebanese Army and the Internal Security Forces.
Berri expressed his appreciation for France and other countries aiding Lebanon and its military, emphasizing that the army has met its obligations. He reiterated Lebanon's adherence to Resolution 1701 and the agreement from November 2024, highlighting the ongoing issues of Israeli aggression and violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
In a separate meeting, Berri conferred with Telecommunications Minister Charles Hajj to discuss recent developments in the telecommunications sector.
