Salam Pledges Cabinet Review of Full-Time Appointments in Talks with Lebanese University Contracted Professors

Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received a delegation from the Association of Contracted Professors at the Lebanese University at the Grand Serail, where discussions focused on the long-standing file of full-time appointments. Speaking after the meeting, the association's representative said the atmosphere was positive, noting that Salam pledged to raise the issue at the Cabinet at the earliest opportunity for approval. In light of the assurances, the association decided to temporarily suspend plans for a strike, pending upcoming Cabinet sessions.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam also met a delegation from the League of Employees at the Lebanese University, headed by Ayman Majed, who presented a written memorandum outlining their demands. Chief among them was a call to double salary increases granted to public sector employees, stressing that university staff have been receiving lower adjustments since 2023.
