Beirut: Head of the parliamentary Finance and Budget Committee, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, on Wednesday met at Parliament with French presidential envoy Jacques de Lajugie, in the presence of the head of the Economic Section at the French Embassy in Beirut, Fran§ois Sporer, and the embassy’s financial adviser, Vincent De Dr©e. The meeting focused on financial reforms, the recovery plan, and the related legislation. France reaffirmed its support for Lebanon in achieving economic recovery and safeguarding the rights of Lebanese society.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, MP Kanaan emphasized “the right of depositors to recover their savings and lifetime earnings.” The discussion highlighted the importance of implementing legislative measures that would aid in the financial stabilization of Lebanon. The French delegation expressed a continued commitment to assist Lebanon in its efforts to restore economic stability and ensure the financial rights of its citizens.
