Salam Urges Arab Fund to Fast-Track Stalled Projects, Explore New Cooperation

Beirut: Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, on Wednesday held a meeting with Director General and Chairman of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, Dr. Fawzi Al-Hunaidi, on the sidelines of his participation in the World Government Summit 2026.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, talks focused on strengthening the capacities of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, seen as a cornerstone of cooperation with the Arab Fund and partner Arab institutions, particularly in enhancing technical and administrative readiness.

Salam called for the swift dispatch of a specialized mission to address long-pending projects and to assess the possibility of launching new ones, followed by a future meeting of the Arab Coordination Group to review Lebanon's situation and prospects for cooperation.

For its part, the Fund noted the tangible progress achieved in Lebanon's reform track.
