Baabda palace: MP Melhem Riachy, member of the Strong Republic bloc and envoy of Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, on Wednesday stated that the party stands firmly behind President Joseph Aoun in holding parliamentary elections on schedule. Riachy emphasized that any form of postponement, "even on technical grounds," is unacceptable, describing it as unnecessary and unjustified. He underscored the Lebanese Forces' commitment to respecting constitutional deadlines and safeguarding the democratic process.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Riachy's remarks were made during his visit to Baabda Palace, where he reiterated the importance of adhering to the planned electoral timeline. He affirmed the party's resolve in ensuring that the elections proceed without delay, highlighting the significance of maintaining the integrity of the democratic process in Lebanon.
