Beirut Judge Continues Probe into Financial Extortion, Fake Saudi Prince Case

Beirut: Beirut First Investigative Judge, Roula Othman, on Wednesday continued her investigations into the financial extortion case involving the impersonation of a Saudi prince, re-questioning detainee Sheikh Khodr Araymet in the presence of his lawyer, Sakhr Al-Hashem. Judge Othman also heard testimony from former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and former minister Mohammad Choucair as witnesses in the case.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, lawyer Youssef Zaiter submitted a request for the release of detainee Mostafa Al-Hassian, who allegedly impersonated the fictitious Saudi prince known as "Abu Omar." The request was referred to the Beirut Public Prosecutor's Office of Appeal for its opinion, pending a decision to approve or reject the release request.
