Cypriot President Condemns Israeli Strikes on Lebanon

Beirut: Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, in a phone call this morning with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, which yesterday targeted neighborhoods in the capital, its suburbs, Mount Lebanon, the Bekaa, and the south.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Christodoulides expressed his country's solidarity with Lebanon and its people during these difficult circumstances, affirming Cyprus's readiness to help de-escalate tensions, alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people, and provide urgent medical, relief, and humanitarian assistance.

The two leaders also discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as ways to restore stability. They reviewed how Cyprus, currently holding the presidency of the European Union, can support Lebanon.

President Aoun thanked his Cypriot counterpart for his continued support for Lebanon and for the solidarity shown by Cyprus and its people.
