Maronite Patriarchate Condemns Insult to Pope Leo XIV, Affirms Support for Peace Message

Beirut: The Maronite Patriarchate on Tuesday issued a statement titled "His Holiness Pope Leo, Apostle of Love and Peace," strongly condemning any offense against Pope Leo XIV, describing him as a moral voice advocating justice, peace and human dignity.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the statement said such insults violate respect for the Church's highest authority and undermine shared human values, stressing that the Pope has consistently stood as a messenger of hope and a defender of human dignity.

It reaffirmed full support for the Pope, praising his longstanding backing of Lebanon and his calls for an end to wars and for a just and comprehensive peace.

The Patriarchate also urged commitment to dialogue, rejection of incitement, and adoption of wisdom over violence, calling for global efforts toward justice and reconciliation.
