Beirut: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has issued a stern warning to municipalities regarding unauthorized roadworks being carried out on roads under the ministry's jurisdiction. The ministry expressed dissatisfaction over the unauthorized excavation and infrastructure works, emphasizing that such activities violate legal and administrative procedures.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the ministry released a statement highlighting that these unauthorized works have been conducted without its approval, supervision, or prior technical authorization. This has resulted in traffic disruptions, daily inconvenience for residents, and risks to public safety in various areas.
The ministry underscored the necessity for any intervention on roads under its authority to receive prior technical and administrative approval. This measure is crucial to preserving public safety and ensuring proper traffic management.
Furthermore, the MoPWT called on municipalities and relevant parties to adhere strictly to applicable laws. It urged security forces and traffic units to actively prevent any unlicensed works on ministry roads, warning that such violations would not be tolerated.
