Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Monday held a series of ministerial, diplomatic, and administrative meetings at Baabda Palace focused on security, ceasefire developments, and institutional oversight.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Aoun discussed the security situation with Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar and reviewed measures taken by the Interior Ministry and affiliated agencies to preserve stability, improve public services, and develop the ministry's work.
The president also met with US Ambassador Michel Issa to discuss developments related to the third Lebanese-American-Israeli meeting due to take place in Washington this week. Aoun stressed the need to pressure Israel to halt ceasefire violations, military operations, and the demolition and bulldozing of homes.
Separately, Aoun chaired a meeting with heads of Lebanon's oversight bodies, emphasizing that regulatory institutions are "the backbone of the rule of law" and must continue operating independently despite current challenges.
Aoun also received National Social Security Fund Director General Mohammad Karaki to discuss cooperation with hospitals and improving services for beneficiaries.
