Interior Minister Reviews Progress on Shehim Government Building Complex

Shehim: Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Ahmad Al-Hajjar, conducted an inspection visit to the government building complex project in the Al-Jerd neighborhood of Shehim. Accompanied by Municipality Head Tarek Shaaban, the Minister examined the ongoing construction efforts aimed at completing the project.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Hajjar subsequently visited the Shehim Municipality building, where he toured the premises alongside the head and members of the municipal council. A meeting was held with council members, which included former MP Mohammad Hajjar and the government commissioner to the Electricity of Lebanon Corporation, Mohammad Amin. Discussions centered on various town concerns, particularly security issues, the needs of the government building complex, road paving, infrastructure improvements, and the status of electricity and water services.

The meeting also addressed the impact of displacement and its effects on host communities. Minister Hajjar praised the people of Shehim and Iqlim al-Kharroub for their patriotism and hospitality, noting their acceptance of displaced families irrespective of political differences or past events.

Expressing pride in his origins, Hajjar stated, "I am proud to be a son of Shehim and Iqlim al-Kharroub, and we are all proud that our region has always been a source of success and has produced numerous prominent figures both within Lebanon and abroad in various fields." He emphasized the critical role of mayors and mukhtars, asserting that their primary concern should be serving the country.
