Sidon: Tensions are running high in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp following a shooting targeting two Palestinian national security officers, Muhammad Fathi and Haitham Ghoutani, at the Hasba checkpoint inside the camp. Both sustained serious injuries and were transferred to Labib Medical Center in Sidon for medical attention.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Public Relations and Media Director for the Palestinian National Security Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Hadi al-Asadi, condemned the incident, asserting that it was the work of "suspicious hands continuing the Israeli aggression against our people in Palestine and their actions in Lebanon aimed at destabilizing the camps, especially given the delicate circumstances Lebanon and the region are currently facing."
He added that Fatah and the Palestinian National Security Forces have launched an investigation into the incident.
