Derian Receives Merhebi, Discusses Regional Developments and Prospective Agreement

Beirut: Grand Mufti of the Republic, Abdel Latif Derian, on Monday received former minister and MP Talal Merhebi along with former MP Tarek Merhebi at Dar Al-Fatwa. The meeting centered around key developments in Lebanon and the broader region, with a particular focus on an agreement anticipated to be signed on June 19.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Talal Merhebi expressed optimism that the forthcoming agreement could lead to a just and comprehensive peace. He emphasized the need for halting Israeli violations and urged adherence to the ceasefire, reflecting hopes for stability and progress.

In a related development, Derian also held discussions with businessman Ziad Moussa. Their talks addressed affairs concerning Beirut and highlighted the issue of detained Islamists, indicating a broad agenda of pressing local and regional matters.
