Beirut:The General Directorate of State Security in Lebanon commemorated its 41st anniversary with a symbolic military ceremony at its headquarters, attended by its officers and personnel.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Director General Major General Edgar Lawandos addressed the gathering in an order of the day, highlighting the challenges faced at this sensitive security juncture. He urged the personnel to intensify their efforts to uphold the state and its institutions.
Lawandos paid tribute to the State Security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, vowing to honor their sacrifices. He emphasized the agency's commitment to enforcing laws and combating corruption, bribery, and forgery within public administrations. He underscored the importance of professionalism, discipline, and continuous institutional development.
The Director General also pointed out that technological and scientific modernization would be pivotal in the upcoming phase, focusing on competence, merit, and responsibility. Similar ceremonies, featuring the reading of the order of the day, took place across State Security's regional directorates.
