Nabatieh:Lebanon: President Joseph Aoun extended his congratulations to the State Security Directorate on the occasion of its 41st anniversary, commending its significant role in maintaining stability and combating corruption.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Aoun addressed a statement to State Security Director General Maj. Gen. Edgar Lawandos, along with officers and personnel, acknowledging the agency's efforts over the past two years in regaining its institutional role and effectiveness.
The President emphasized that the State Security Directorate has re-established itself as a key player in fighting corruption and uncovering networks that threaten public funds and citizens' rights. He noted that the agency's contributions are crucial to building a state governed by law and institutions.
Aoun also honored the State Security personnel who lost their lives during the Israeli attack on the agency's headquarters in Nabatieh while fulfilling their national duties.
He concluded by reiterating the state's commitment to supporting the agency and enhancing its capabilities, in coordination with Lebanon's military and security institutions, to ensure the protection of the nation and its inhabitants.
