Tripoli:Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi announced plans to request the cancellation or suspension of the LBP 300,000 fee on fuel in an upcoming Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Minister Saddi emphasized the need to shield citizens from extra financial burdens, especially in light of the recent surge in global oil prices and its effects on the local market.
Saddi, expressing his objections to the fee from its inception, stated that the priority should be on alleviating the financial strain on citizens.
