Manama:The University of Bahrain (UoB) has implemented an automated system for its course equivalency service, facilitating a seamless transfer of eligible courses for students moving between academic programs. This advancement allows previously completed courses to be credited to students' academic records automatically.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the new system replaces a previously cumbersome process that involved four steps and took five working days. The upgrade significantly reduces documentation requirements by 50% and lowers approval needs by 25%, cutting the service delivery time by at least 25%. The entire process is now fully electronic, offering a simplified and streamlined user experience.
Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of UoB, expressed that the upgrade will ease students' transitions between academic programs, saving them both time and effort, and enabling them to continue their studies with greater ease. He emphasized that this initiative is part of the university's ongoing commitment to digital transformation and enhancing the efficiency and quality of its services.
The automation of the course equivalency service is also aligned with Bahrain's broader governmental efforts to enhance public services. Over 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with 800 services undergoing development and process redesign. These improvements incorporate feedback from the public via the Tawasul National Suggestions and Complaints System, investor feedback, and mystery shopper assessments, along with the introduction of service guides and service-level agreements.
