The Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, headed by Representative Heibet Al-Halbousi, hosted the Undersecretary of the Oil Minister for Gas Affairs, the Director General of Gas Mobilization and Services, in addition to the Deputy Managing Director of the Basra Company, to discuss the Ministry’s plan for gas investment.
MP Al-Halbousi revealed, according to the committee’s statement: “The committee discussed gas investment projects, and the projects that were proposed and will be presented in the licensing rounds for gas investment, and reducing dependence on imported gas, as the volume of imports from Iran reached 1,400 cubic metres, in addition to discussing investment in the gas filling company and her work in installing gas systems for cars.
Al-Halbousi confirmed that the committee aims in its current session to complete all files and overcome all obstacles that would contribute to the investment of Iraqi gas, and reduce dependence on imports, to secure the country’s need for gas, and this is what the government program included.
