Beirut: Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firas Abiad, on Wednesday expressed his strong support for enhancing Lebanon's healthcare system during the announcement of a new cooperation agreement between H´tel-Dieu de France Hospital and Jezzine Government Hospital.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Abiad emphasized the government's focus on improving primary healthcare services while ensuring robust secondary care. He stated that this collaboration marks a significant moment for Lebanon and its healthcare sector, particularly for the Ministry of Health.
Abiad highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in expanding access to advanced medical services. He announced plans to develop specialized centers near public hospitals, with funding from the World Bank, to ensure their sustainability. Abiad stressed the importance of working with the private sector, expressing pride in the collaboration with H´tel-Dieu and the legacy of Saint Joseph University.
