ABU DHABI: The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has entered a strategic partnership with Cognizant Technology Solutions Overseas Corporation, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at GITEX Global Week 2024. The collaboration focuses on integrating AI technologies to enhance patient care and overall healthcare delivery.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the DoH. Ibrahim Al Jallaf, Executive Director of Digital Health at DoH, and Maged Wassim, Vice President-Middle East Market Head of Cognizant, formalized the agreement. Al Jallaf highlighted the partnership’s role in advancing Abu Dhabi’s healthcare technology and innovation, using AI to drive the healthcare sector forward.
The initiative will employ AI to generate clinical insights, aiming to improve healthcare outcomes across the community. This involves developing advanced solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing healthcare systems, benefiting provid
ers, patients, and stakeholders.
Wassim shared the project’s goals of enhancing the prescription journey, predicting disease outbreaks, and conducting risk assessments by linking medical data across various domains. The partnership will also focus on two AI use cases: “AI-powered Information Extraction from Unstructured Clinical Records” and “Medication Intelligent Monitoring,” which will provide comprehensive views of patients’ medical histories.
The collaboration seeks not only to fill current gaps in healthcare services but also to personalize care to meet the unique needs of each resident, thereby improving patient outcomes and satisfaction through advanced data analytics and clinical decision-making tools.
