Hanoi: AD Ports Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the General Department of Vietnam Customs to explore the development of digital trade solutions aimed at enhancing the country's customs operations. According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU will see AD Ports Group and GDVC assess various opportunities for collaboration. These include the implementation of a Single Window trade solution, as well as customs and border solutions. Additionally, they will explore the development of a trade management and risk management platform, and artificial intelligence-supported digital trade solutions. Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, stated, "We welcome this opportunity to explore development of a Single Window solution and other best-in-class digital trade and customs solutions for the General Department of Vietnam Customs. Under the wise vision of our leadership, AD Ports Group will look to identify ways in which our Group can share its expertis e to help digitalise Vietnam's customs department and drive economic growth." The formalisation of the MoU follows the completion of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Vietnam. This agreement, in conjunction with digital enhancements to customs solutions, is anticipated to facilitate trade between the two nations. Abu Dhabi-based AD Ports Group operates a global network encompassing ports, maritime and shipping, logistics, and industrial development in over 50 countries. The group is strategically focused on expanding its activities in Southeast Asia.
