The total added value of active private enterprises (221,346) during the first quarter of 2023 amounted to RO 8,941.1 million, constituting a growth by 11.4% compared to the corresponding period in 2022, according to the data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The contribution of active enterprises to the gross domestic product (GDP) at current prices reached 77.2% during the first quarter of 2023 compared to 82.6% during the first quarter of 2022.
Moreover, the added value of large enterprises amounted to RO 6,261.8 million constituting 54.1%, comprising a rise by 3.7% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
Further, the added value of medium enterprises amounted to RO 731.5 million (6.3%), comprising an increase by 18.5%. Meanwhile, the added value of small enterprises reached RO 863.6 million (7.5%), constituting a rise by 36.6%.
The added value of micro enterprises reached RO 1,084.1 million (9.4%), going up by 47.1%.
Furthermore, workers in active private enterprises in Oman increased by 14.2% to stand at 1,749,974 during the first quarter of 2023 compared to 1,532,227 during the first quarter of 2022.
