Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, today met with Badr Mohammed Al Saad, Chairman and Director General of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. The meeting dealt with mechanisms to enhance cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Fund. On the sidelines of the meeting, the two sides signed a loan agreement to finance the implementation of the first phase of a project to establish a branch for the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Musandam Governorate. The agreement inked in pursuance of ongoing cooperation between the two sides in supporting developmental, economic and social projects in the Sultanate of Oman. The establishment of the UTAS branch in Musandam Governorate serves the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The university seeks to upgrade skills of national cadres and prepare them to meet the needs of the labour market. UTAS offers many study programmes in the fields of economics, business administration, information technology, engineering and education for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
