Doha: Al Gharafa stayed top of the Qatari Stars League after defeating Umm Salal 3-2 in the 12th round, earning their ninth win of the season and bouncing back from a heavy loss to Al Shahania last week.
According to Qatar News Agency, defending champions Al Sadd moved into second place with a 3-2 victory over Qatar SC, marking their fourth consecutive win and closing the gap to Al Gharafa to five points. Al Rayyan remain third after beating Al Sailiya 3-1, while Al Arabi climbed to fifth with a 1-0 win over Al-Wakrah.
Elsewhere, Al Ahli overcame Al Shamal 4-2, and Al Duhail drew 0-0 with Al Shahania. Umm Salal, Al Sailiya, and Al Wakrah continue to struggle near the bottom of the table.
So far, 240 goals have been scored in 72 matches this season, with Al Rayyan striker Roger Guedes leading the scorers on 15 goals.
