Qatar and Syria Seek Redemption in U23 Asia Cup Clash

Qatar: Qatar will face Syria on Saturday at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in their second match of the AFC U23 Asian Cup group stage. Both sides are in Group B alongside Japan and the United Arab Emirates.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar lost 2-0 to the UAE in their opener, struggling with attacking efficiency and defensive organization, and will aim to bounce back under coach Ilidio Vale. Syria, meanwhile, suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to Japan in their first game and will also seek a quick recovery to keep their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive.

The group's other fixture sees Japan take on the UAE in a clash for top spot. The tournament, hosted by Saudi Arabia, runs from January 6 to 24 with 16 teams competing.
