On the first day of the new academic year 2023-2024, Al-Quds University received its new students from the faculties of: Human Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Professions, and Public Health, during which it provided advice, guidance, and introduction to the university’s facilities, in the presence of the Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. . Moatasem Hamdan, deans of colleges, and faculty members.
Prof. Dr. welcomed Hamdan greeted the students at Al-Quds University and said: “We are happy to have you join the Al-Quds University family, which is distinguished in research and academics,” offering them many important advice about their studies, and calling on them to be diligent and persevere in order to achieve excellence.
He explained that Al-Quds University attaches great importance to the student, so it provides him with many services, such as the Language Center, which is concerned with developing their skills in several languages, the most important of which is English, and other centers established to care for the distinguished student, in addition to the new female student housing, which provides all the amenities and safety for female students, which They can join it this year.
Through the Dean of Human Medicine, Dr. Hani Abdeen expressed his pride in the students’ enrollment at Al-Quds University, specifically the College of Medicine. He explained that the college provides students with comprehensive medical information and gives them the necessary skills. He called on the students to adhere to professionalism as it is essential in the medical profession. He pointed out that the college is distinguished by its students and their competence, which they prove annually.
The Dean of Dentistry, Dr. Muhammad Abu Younis said that the College of Dentistry is one of the distinguished colleges locally and internationally in terms of its academic staff and students. He explained that there are opportunities for student exchange and students can join them. He also invited them to join the scientific research club at the college, which is supervised and headed by the students, wishing them a successful university life.
The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr., said: Ahmed Amr to the students, “We support you and facilitate the steps for your success and excellence. Thank you for choosing Al-Quds University,” explaining that the college has developed its programs and laboratories to keep pace with successive developments and to provide modern science to students.
She welcomed the Vice President for Health and Medical Affairs and Dean of Health Professions, Dr. Rania Abu Sir greeted the new students, presenting an overview of the university and the College of Health Professions, which is considered one of the university’s largest colleges and a large number of students enroll annually.
She explained that Al-Quds University is greatly concerned with scientific research, especially in recent years, and that a large proportion of the university’s research was conducted by students, calling on them to join research clubs and integrate into them during their first years of study. She also provided many advice to students about practical training and the necessity of adhering to the college’s instructions regarding It belongs to him.
The Dean of Public Health, Dr. Hazem Agha said that the college gives students the necessary skills and knowledge, as it is one of the advanced colleges in the university as it offers diverse and modern bachelor’s and master’s programs. He addressed the students by saying: “The university is your home and you must protect it, adhere to the university’s laws, and be its honorable face.”
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mazen Al-Khatib said that the deanship has a major role in refining the student’s personality and skills. He pointed out that the deanship organizes many diverse cultural, educational, artistic and sports activities, and the student can go there to benefit from them and join the university teams, stressing that the deanship is an incubator for students’ talents and supports them.
Mr. Hassan Abu Latifa from the Saeed Khoury Center for Information Technology gave an extensive explanation about the university’s website, which allows students to learn about all the university’s services, including various announcements and news, and access his academic and financial file and everything related to his needs through the university’s website.
On its first day, the ceremony included an artistic performance by the Al-Quds University choral band, in addition to a success story segment narrated by one of the colleges’ graduates.
