ALECSO Director General Commends Minister of Culture’s Vision for Organizational Development

Beirut: Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salam©, recently held a meeting at the National Library in Sanayeh with Dr. Mohamed Ould Imar, the Director General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). Dr. Imar, who was accompanied by a delegation, engaged in discussions with the minister and the Director General of Cultural Affairs, Dr. Ali Samad, focusing on cultural issues and the collaboration between Lebanon and ALECSO.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the delegation comprised key figures such as Dr. Hamid bin Saif Al-Nawfali, Director of the Culture Department; Yahya Muhammad Mansour, Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department; Abdul Hadi Al-Ghamari, Project Coordinator at the Culture Department; and Dina Al-Qalibi, Director General. The discussions highlighted a mutual commitment to enhancing cultural ties and ALECSO's role in supporting Lebanon's cultural initiatives.

Dr. Imar expressed his appreciation for Minister Salam©'s insightful directives aimed at advancing ALECSO's objectives. He emphasized the importance of the minister's forward-looking vision and acknowledged Lebanon's strategic role in leading a shared Arab dossier. This dossier is set to be presented to UNESCO, aiming for recognition on the list of tangible and intangible heritage. The meeting underscored the significance of Lebanon's participation in regional ministerial conferences and its leadership in cultural initiatives.

Dr. Imar concluded by reaffirming ALECSO's dedication to collaborating with the Lebanese Ministries of Culture and Education, as well as the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO. This partnership aims to bolster Lebanon's cultural and educational sectors, providing both moral and material support during this pivotal period.
