Aoun and Berri Focus on U.S. Visit and Southern Lebanon Tensions

Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, met with House Speaker, Nabih Berri, at Baabda Palace on Wednesday to review domestic and regional developments. They concentrated on the situation in southern Lebanon, highlighting concerns over ongoing Israeli attacks on villages and towns, which have included the demolition and destruction of homes. Both leaders emphasized the necessity of halting what they described as hostile actions.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Aoun also informed Berri about the results of his recent visit to the United States, where he engaged in talks with senior U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. These discussions were part of Aoun's efforts to address pertinent issues affecting Lebanon, both domestically and internationally.

Following their meeting, Berri expressed satisfaction with the discussions, noting that they focused on President Aoun's recent Washington visit and the precarious situation in southern Lebanon. Berri remarked that he was "as always, pleased with the meeting," indicating a continued commitment to addressing these pressing issues collaboratively.
