Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, was briefed by Industry Minister, Joe Issa El Khoury, on the state of the industrial sector amid current challenges. Issa El Khoury outlined conditions across various industrial sectors and the measures being taken by the ministry in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the continuity of production and maintain sector stability, including efforts to secure essential raw materials and support factories in continuing operations despite exceptional circumstances.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Aoun also received MP Camille Chamoun, who said discussions focused on several sensitive issues, including the question of arms and disarmament and the risk of the war expanding onto Lebanese territory. Chamoun stressed the need to provide assistance to residents of southern Lebanon facing difficult humanitarian conditions, while seeking international solutions to help the country withstand the current situation.
Chamoun also underscored the importance of supporting the Lebanese Army so that it does not face the situation alone, noting that he raised the possibility of invoking Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter to ensure respect for Lebanon’s borders and prevent any occupation or violations of its territory.
