Aoun Meets MPs Sadeq and Daou, Honors Outgoing German Ambassador

Baabda: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday received MPs Waddah Sadek and Mark Daou at Baabda Palace to discuss the country's political and security developments.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, following the meeting, Sadek stated that Lebanon is at a "historic moment" in its efforts to restore sovereignty and stability. He mentioned that President Aoun briefed them on the framework agreement reached in Washington and urged Lebanese citizens to support the state and its institutions. Sadek emphasized the importance of backing the Lebanese Army in implementing the "Pilot Zone."

MP Mark Daou highlighted the significance of a united state that supports an independent national choice, which he believes would strengthen Lebanon's negotiating position, distancing it from regional negotiations where the country is not represented. Daou expressed complete confidence in the Lebanese Army, described the security situation as controlled, and expressed hope that all political forces would support the state and its institutions.

Separately, President Aoun received outgoing German Ambassador Kurt Georg St¶ckl-Stillfried on a farewell visit. In recognition of his efforts to strengthen Lebanese-German relations across various fields, Aoun awarded him the National Order of the Cedar, rank of Grand Officer.
