Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, was briefed on Wednesday morning by Interior and Municipalities Minister, Brig. Gen. Ahmad Hajjar, on preparations underway within the ministry’s units for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Aoun underscored the need to hold the polls on schedule in May.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, in a separate meeting, Aoun discussed domestic affairs and regional deelopments with Russia’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudako. During this meeting, President Aoun informed Ambassador Rudako that Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri will represent Lebanon at the inaugural Arab-Russian Summit in Moscow, which is scheduled to take place mid-month.
