Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Friday informed the Cabinet of his decision to return the law concerning the organization of the judiciary, invoking his constitutional powers under Article 57.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the President stated that the law, recently passed by Parliament, contains 'procedural, substantive, and material errors that would render parts of it inapplicable.' He also cited concerns that the legislation 'violates established legal foundations and international standards.'
The return of the law occurred within the constitutional time frame.
