Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Monday stressed the need for Lebanon to remain a leading center for higher education during a meeting with the newly appointed president of Saint Joseph University, Father Fran§ois Boidec, S.J., and the director of Notre Dame de Jamhour, Father Marek Chislik. The meeting was held in the presence of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister Youssef Raggi, and focused on the importance of safeguarding Lebanon's academic standing and educational mission, particularly amid current national challenges.
According to National News agency - Lebanon, the discussions highlighted the pivotal role that educational institutions play in maintaining Lebanon's reputation as a regional hub for learning. President Aoun emphasized that despite the ongoing difficulties facing the country, the focus on education must remain a priority. This meeting underscored the collective effort needed from both government and educational leaders to ensure the perseverance and advancement of Lebanon's academic sector.
