Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Monday emphasized the need for Lebanon to capitalize on growing Arab and international interest by reinforcing trust through national unity and institutional reform. Speaking to a visiting delegation from the Union of Businessmen for Support and Development - Irada Association, he called for moving beyond sectarian, partisan, and factional divisions.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun stated, 'We must replace sectarian alleyways with a unified path, one party called Lebanon, one sect called the Lebanese sect, and one flag under which we all rally.' He emphasized that 'a Lebanon of sects does not build a state. It is the state that protects all sects and safeguards the nation.'
President Aoun also underscored the role of the Council of Ministers as a platform for democratic debate and effective decision-making. 'Cabinet meetings are yielding unprecedented decisions,' he noted, highlighting a new phase of governance grounded in open dialogue and collective responsibility.
