Arab League Approves Nomination of Nabil Fahmy for Secretary-General Post

Beirut: Arab Foreign Ministers Unanimously Support Egypt's Nomination: Arab foreign ministers unanimously recommended on Sunday supporting Egypt's nomination of former Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy for the post of Secretary-General of the Arab League, succeeding Ahmed Aboul Gheit, according to Sky News Arabia.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the decision came on the sidelines of the 165th regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, which focused primarily on regional developments, particularly Iranian aggression against several Arab states.

Final approval of Fahmy's appointment is expected to take place during the upcoming Arab Summit in Saudi Arabia.
