Army Chief Discusses Regional Developments with UK and French Officials

Beirut: Lebanon's Army Commander, Major General Rodolphe Haykal, engaged in significant discussions at his Yarzeh office with key international defense representatives. On Wednesday, he welcomed the UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, along with an accompanying delegation. British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell, was also present at this meeting.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, these discussions centered on the general situation in Lebanon and the broader region, particularly in light of current developments. Both parties explored avenues to bolster cooperation between the Lebanese Armed Forces and the British military.

The army commander also hosted the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Herv© Magro, who was accompanied by Military Attach© Colonel Bruno Costantini. Their talks similarly focused on regional developments and strengthening military collaboration between Lebanon and France.

Further engagements by Maj. Gen. Haykal included a meeting with the Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon, Vahagn Atabekian, along with the Military Attach©, and a separate discussion with MP Michel Daher. The latest regional and national developments were key topics in these conversations as well.
