Army Chief Visits Strategic Military Units in Bekaa, Highlights Security Efforts

Beirut: Lebanese Army Commander, General Rodolph Haykal, conducted an inspection of the command structure of the 2nd Land Border Regiment and visited the "Qozhaiya Bitar" and "Al-Musherfeh" posts in the Al-Qaa area, as well as an army unit of the 9th Infantry Brigade stationed in the Hermel area.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, General Haykal met with officers and soldiers during his visit, where he acknowledged their efforts and extended holiday greetings. He was informed about the challenges faced by the units in their respective sectors. He praised their ongoing commitment to monitoring and controlling the border, which plays a critical role in maintaining Lebanon's security and stability.

In his address to the officers and soldiers, General Haykal emphasized the pivotal role of the army as a unifying national institution. He stated that soldiers from various Lebanese regions come together to defend the nation and ensure its security, both internally and along the borders. He acknowledged their determination and effectiveness in combating smuggling and maintaining a positive role in the border areas between Lebanon and Syria through continuous communication and coordination with Syrian authorities.

General Haykal also highlighted that Lebanon's primary adversary remains the Israeli entity, which persists in its violations of Lebanese sovereignty and the safety of its citizens. Additionally, he mentioned the ongoing endeavors by the Army Command to improve military medical services, ensuring optimal healthcare for soldiers and their families.
