HERMEL: The Lebanese Army Command – Orientation Directorate announced today that a significant operation led to the seizure of a truck loaded with equipment and raw materials for manufacturing Captagon in the Harf al-Samaka area of Hermel. The operation, which took place on April 12, 2025, was the result of meticulous security follow-up and surveillance by an army unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the truck was intended for smuggling operations from Syria to Lebanon. The Lebanese Army has transferred the confiscated materials to the appropriate authorities, and an investigation has been launched under judicial supervision. The ongoing investigation aims to apprehend those responsible for the smuggling attempt.
